How to Choose the Right Power Drill — Finally, Power That Isn’t $300 and Ugly.

Many cute or “pink” drills look fun but lack the power and safety features needed for real DIY work. Other top brand drills look manly and are heavy. Here’s what should actually matter to us girls when selecting a cordless power drill. 

1. Torque Power

You need at LEAST 45+ lbs of torque to drill safely without straining your wrist or relying on body weight. Most reputable brands all carry between 50 - 55 lbs of torque (e.g., higher-end DeWalt, Milwaukee, Ryobi, and Craftsman).

Look for 10+ settings so the drill protects materials and stops force correctly.
